Cloud Services

Cloud services is a generic term used to described the delivery of a network derived virtualised resource, replacing the need to purchase dedicated hardware or software.

The benefits of using cloud based services increase if your workforce is mobile or detached from the office as it removes the issue of centralised servers with bandwidth constrained WAN connections. Likewise, if most staff are office based, cloud services can create issues if the WAN connection isn’t adequately sized to meet the increased demand of having your network resources virtualised.

RFL offer various Cloud services that embrace:

  • IaaS, Infrastructure as a Service

This includes options for virtual servers that can be scaled to meet your requirements, remote data backup and telephony. This provides considerable savings in capital expenditure with increased flexibility to scale your network to meet real time requirements

  • SaaS, Software as a Service

Frequently referred to as “on-demand software”, deployed as a hosted service and accessed via the internet. Some software lends itself to this model as users enjoy the benefit of the software without any maintenance issues, updates or licensing conflicts.

This can be a daunting subject and as with most technology the final solution is often a mix of on-premise and cloud based technology.

As a experienced supplier RFL can help outline the options, advantages and disadvantages, identifying the best solution for your business.
